Nagaland to help Coir Board for marketing

Kohima, Feb 22 (UNI) Nagaland Government has inked another chapter in the industrial map with assurances to the Coir Board, Ministry of Agro and Rural Industries and Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), to assist marketing strategy of coir products for entrepreneurs in the state.

Nagaland Agriculture Production Commissioner Alemtemshi Jamir said the state may not take coconut plantation on large scale, however, the use and utility has potentiality, for which, the Government can assist the marketing aspects.

He said at a seminar on Coir Geo Textile here yesterday that if any entrepreneur wanted to market the product, the Government would assist them. He hoped that the Coir Board and IIE would also extend some subsidy package to the entrepreneurs desiring to involve in marketing venture. He informed the coir mat netting has already been applied in some landslide areas of the state for which the landslides were reasonably controlled.

Dr S.K.Saikia from IIE said the Coir Board has focussed on growing more coconuts in Nagaland.

Kar Govt to introduce changes in syllabus to meet present day needs

Ganesh Housing inks MoU with Gujarat govt for Rs 2,000cr project
