MLA changes decision to stage walkout in MP Assly

Bhopal, Feb 22 (UNI) CPI(M) MLA Ramlakhan Sharma today announced to stage a walkout in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly alleging that relief work had not started in drought-affected areas but changed his decision at the instance of Speaker Ishwardas Rohani.

During the Question Hour, JD(U)'s Saroj Bachchan Nayak raised the issue of relief work not being started in drought-affected areas.

Mr Sharma alleged that relief work had not started in Rewa district and demanded that funds be released and work be started in the region.

Meanwhile, Mr Sharma declared that he will stage a walkout because his demand was not being met.

Mr Rohani requested Mr Sharma not to stage a walkout and directed the government to take necessary steps and start relief work in Rewa.

In this regard, state Power Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya said there was no dearth of funds for relief work and districts will be provided as much amount as required.

Several measures taken for welfare of women and children: Minister

Bhopal, Feb 22 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Women and Child Development Minister Kusum Mehdele today told the assembly that the government had initiated several measures for the development of women and children. Replying to supplementary questions raised by Mr Satyadeo Katare (Congress), Ms Mehdele said her department was implementing the points as announced in the Governor's address. Replies to MLAs' letter necessary: Vijaywargiya

Bhopal, Feb 22 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today told the assembly that replies from various departments to letters of MLAs will be ensured. During the question hour, Mr Manoharlal Rathor said he had written a letter to departments concerned besides Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan regarding disbursing flood-relief amount but no reply was furnished. In the absence of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra, Power Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya said directions had already been issued to all departments to provide replies to.....
