Jharkhand MLA appears for matriculation exam

Ranchi, Feb 22 (UNI) Stung by the 'inferiority complex' tinged with an indomitable urge to set an example for others, a JMM MLA appeared for the matriculation examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Academic Council here.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha's Chakradharpur representative Sukhram Oraon said he often felt embarrassed whenever he was invited to felicitate matric toppers of his constituency.

Significantly three members of the family, including Mr Oraon's brother and son, also appeared for the examination.

Mr Oraon said without being properely educated it was difficult for him to understand the people's problem.

He said he could not take tuition because of his busy schedule but his son helped him with notes.

He had the dubious record of geting involved in more than 24 criminal cases but came out clean.

Have Bengali signboards, else lose trading license: KMC

Kolkata, Feb 22 (UNI) The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has warned all shopowners in the city that they would lose their trading licenses if they fail to put up signboards in Bengali. ''It has been made mandatory for all the commercial establishments to have Bengali signboards.
