Huge explosives recovered in Asom

Guwahati, Feb 22 (UNI) About 1000 rounds of explosive devices, including 600 IEDs, were recovered and one was arrested today from Garchuck here.

Police said besides IEDs, another 400 rounds of smaller intensity explosives with Indian Ordnance Factory insignia were found from a person from Bihar.

He was picked up by police.

The person, basically a carrier, said explosives were meant for quarries of Guwahati and all of these were transported without any valid documents and stolen from the Indian Ordinance Factory.

The incident had shocked police as the explosives could have caused catastrophe in the state if the insurgents could lay hands on these.

RBI issues notices regarding complaints of counterfeit notes

Kolkata, Feb 22 (UNI) Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today issued a public notice cautioning the people about the issuance of counterfeit notes through ATMs. Issuing the notice here today following the receipt of several complaints in this regard, the RBI made it clear that "in no circumstances counterfeit banknotes get dispensed through ATMs or across the exchange counters".
