Funeral of six boat victims held

Kochi, Feb 22 (UNI) Emotions ran high as the funeral rites for the six boat accident victims were performed at Elavoor, in the district today.

The funeral of teacher Lizi, students Sibin and Maria was held at the St Antony's Church and the cremation of Aswathy, Amrita and Anjana was performed at their house compound.

Eighteen people, including 15 school children and three teachers, met a watery grave when their boat capsized in Ovungal Kadavu in the Periyar river.

The funeral of ten students and two teachers was held yesterday.

Power Finance Corp trades 4.60 cr on very first day at BSE

Mumbai, Feb 23 (UNI) Power Finance Corporation (PFC) clocked 4.06 crore shares, topping the volume on the very first day today on BSE, brokers said. PFC was trading at Rs 107.15 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), a premium of 26 per cent, over the initial public offer (IPO) price of Rs 85, brokers said. The stock debuted at Rs 113, hit a low of Rs 106 and a high of Rs 119.40. Volumes in the stock were abnormally.....

Goa has potential to become Global Board of Trade: expert

Panaji, Feb 23 (UNI) Goa has all the potential to become a ''Global Board of Trade'' (GBT) on par with Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Mauritius, an expert said.
