Durgapur, Feb 22 (UNI) To give a fillip to the industrialisation process in West Bengal, the Emta group wants to open a new steel plant in Asansol as well as a packaged paper mill plant in Raniganj, owner of the group Mr Ujjal Upadhaya said here today.
"I need 1,000 acres of land for this purose and am trying to get the land of Sen Raleigh, the closed industry at Asansol," he said.
He also divulged his plans to start a packaged paper mill plant and 2x500MW power plant at the closed Raniganj paper mill which he had acquired recently.
He was conferred the title of "Shilpanchal Gourav" and the title of "Banglar Gourav" was given to Chairman of Ambuja Reality Group Harshabardhan Neotia at a function organised by Raniganj Chambers of Commerce.
Mr Neotia later assured to invest for development of the city.
Other dignitories present on the occasion were Mr Bangsagopal Chowdhury(MP)-Asansol and Secretary of the Raniganj Chamber of Commerce R P Khaitan.
