Cold waves prevail in Orissa

Pune, Feb 22 (UNI) Cold wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Orissa and Jharkhand, while night temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal at isolated places in Jammu and in some parts of Andhra Pradesh, interior Tamil Nadu.

It was below normal in some parts of Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, south interior Karnataka and Kerala.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Gujarat and isolated places in Kashmir, in some parts of Haryana, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, north Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra and were above normal in some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, south Konkan and Goa and in remaining parts of Rajasthan. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or snow are likely to occur at a few places in Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu and Nicobar.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Lakshadweep.

Rain or snow have occurred at most places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Punjab. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
