CCEA approves release of maize to poultry industry of West Bengal

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved the release of 21,200 MT of maize at a price of Rs 450 per quintal from within the 5 lakh MTs of maize from the surplus stock held by the Government to the State of West Bengal.

This will be used for distribution to poultry farmers for use in poultry feed.

It will enable poultry farmers of West Bengal to access poultry feed at a reasonable price and help them to reduce their losses due to market recession resulting from bird flu in certain parts of the country.

The maize will be released to the State during the current month.
