Abondoned briefcase creates flutter

Puducherry, Feb 22 (UNI) An unclaimed briefcase at a counter in the office of the BSNL General Manager here caused a flutter today.

The briefcase, which was lying in front of the counter for more than two hours, created commotion that it may contain explosives.

On information Grand Bazaar police with bomb disposal squad, metal detector and sniffer dog reached the spot.

After careful examining they opened the briefcase only to find clothings inside.

Police are searching for the briefcase owner.

Man kills wife for talking to another man

Surat, Feb 23 (UNI) A man killed his wife for talking to another man at Bedigam in Sonagadh taluka here yesterday, police today said. Rameshbhai Gamit, a resident of Bedigam in Sonagadh taluka here, had seen his wife Shevatiben talking to another man last evening. Rameshbhai had called his wife to his house and quarreled with her. During the quarrel, he attacked her with some sharp weapon, killing her on the spot, police said. Vyara police have registered a case against.....

65000 fake currencies recovered in Mizoram

Aizawl, Feb 23 (UNI) Police have recovered Rs 65000 fake Indian currencies of Rs 500 note from the possession of three Mizos here. Police said the persons were nabbed yesterday. The accused were identified as Ramliana, Zoramthanga and Daniela, all hailing from outskirts of Aizawl. One of them was remanded to judicial custody today, police said. Minister stresses on need for effective consumer protection
