34-yr-old raped by friend, accused arrested

New Delhi, Feb 22 (UNI) A 34-year-old woman was allegedly drugged and raped by her 'friend' in Nizamuddin area of South Delhi.

Police arrested the 21-year-old accused, Sarfaraz, this morning after victim lodged a complaint at the Janakpuri police station, said sources.

The accused is known to the victim's sister, who works at a call centre in Gurgaon, and has been a regular visitor to their house for the last one year.

In her complaint, the woman, who lives in Janakpuri, said she was offered a drug-laced drink by Sarfaraz and raped last night at his Nizamuddin residence after she went unconscious.

Earlier, in the evening both met the Janakpuri District Centre where the woman had gone for shopping. After some time, she accompanied Sarfaraz currently pursuing MCA, to his Nizamuddin residence where the incident took place.

The woman, who also has a son, lives with her mother and two sisters in DDA Flats in Janakpuri.
