We are not involved in Samjhauta blasts: LeT

Srinagar, Feb 21 (UNI) Pakistan-based militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) has denied its involvement in the Samjhauta Express blast in Haryana in which 68 people, most of them Pakistanis, died.

Dr Abdullah Gaznavi, who identified himself as a spokesperson of the outfit, strongly condemned the blast in the Atari-bound train.

Expressing grief and sorrow, he said it was a cowardly act.

He said the claim of a Haryana police official that the LeT was involved in the attack, was done to malign and defame the ''Mujahideen''.

The LeT or any other mujahideen tanzeem do not believe in committing such brutal acts as they are fighting against ''occupational forces'' in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.

Islam does not allow the killing of innocent persons and the killing of an innocent is equal to killing entire humanity as per the teachings, he added.

Almost all separatist organisations besides mainstream political parties, religious and social organisations have condemned the attack.
