Troops concerned over people's health in the state

Imphal, Feb 21 (UNI) Troops in Manipur have undertaken various military action programmes to win over the hearts of the people in the insurgency ridden state.

In continuation of the various welfare measures that had been taken up by Assam Rifles in Manipur, medical camps were organized at various parts of the state to provide medical treatment and distribute free medicine among the people.

SVIMS to conduct health programme tomorrow

New legislation soon to protect paddy fields: Minister

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 12 (UNI) Kerala Revenue Minister K P Rajendran told the Assembly today that a new legislation would be brought to plug all loopholes in the Kerala Land Utilisation Act to strictly check conversion of paddy fields for other purposes. Replying to a Calling Attention motion by Mr B Raghavan (CPI-M), he said such a legislation was necessary to protect the remaining paddy fields and sought people's cooperation to discourage filling of paddy fields. Puducherry, Feb 21 (UNI) The Union Territory of Puducherry has a low HIV/AIDS prevalence rate from its earlier category of medium prevalence, health minister E Valsaraj said here today. Karnataka Choultry staff to intesify agitation from mid night

Tirumala, Mar 12 (UNI) Protesting against the decision of the Karnataka Endowment ministry to handover the management of the Karnataka Choultry located in Tirumala to private parties, the staff members of the Choultry, who were on relay hunger strike, would intensify there agitation from midnight today.
