Tiwari casts his vote

Dehradun, Feb 21 (UNI) Chief Mininster N D Tiwari today cast his vote at one of the polling booths set up in the Forest Research Institute Kendriya Vidhyalaya.

Tiwari, who had declined to contest the Assembly election, reached the polling booth at around 1230 hours.

Declining to vote in the specially set up booth for him, he preferred to stand in an ordinary booth and waited for his turn for 5 minutes.

Chandigarh, Feb 21 (UNI) The Punjab Government has declared a public holiday on February 24 in Valtoha Assembly constituency where polling will be held on that day. All Government offices and those of corporations, boards and all educational institutions in the constituency will remain closed due to polling. Port Blair, Mar 7 (UNI) Sufficient drinking water will be available here upto May 1st week with the current water supply system, the District Administration of Andaman claimed today. ''There will be no further curtailment of water and there is no reason to panic,'' said Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman K S Singh today. The Deputy Commissioner said that the water supply from the Dhanikari dam, the main water source, has been curtailed from 58 lakh gallon on normal.....
