Three killed, 30 injured as buses collide

Jaipur, Feb 21 (UNI) Three people were killed and 30 others injured when two Rajasthan Roadways buses collided at the Chomu-Sikar national highway late last night.

According to police, the accident occured near a small village under Govindgarh police station when one of the driver tried to save a cow crossing the road. One of the Roadways bus was on way from Jaipur to Churu while the other was coming from Sikar.

The driver of one of the Roadways bus was killed in the collision along with two other passengers. Of the 30 injured, 20 people have been admitted to the Sawai Mansingh Hospital here.

Most of the other bus passengers who sustained injuries were discharged after primary treatment at Chomu and Govindgarh hospitals.

NABARD releases Rs 54.29 cr to Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 21 (UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned a sum of Rs 54.29 crore to the Kerala State Cooperative Bank (KSCB) at an interst rate of 2.5 per cent. A NABARD release said the amount was released on the condition that farmers would be provided crop loans up to Rs three lakh, at an interest rate not exceeding seven per cent. With this, NABARD has total outstanding loans against KSCB at Rs 498.27 crore......

Honey bees spell terror in Hubli

Hubli, Feb 26 (UNI) Honey bees virtually clamped curfew in a street here this afternoon, throwing normal life out of gear for over an hour. Honey bees, which suddenly took off from a building in Koppikar road, swarmed the street. The frightened people ran for cover, throwing their vehicles on the road. Almost all shops downed shutters, fearing attack. Normalcy returned to the street after the honey bees settled in their honeycombs. UNI.....

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists arrested

Hubli, Feb 26 (UNI) About 40 activists of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike were arrested when they indulged in blackening English name boards in shops here today, urging to put up boards in Kannada. Agitated that their February 15 deadline to put up Kannada boards had not met with success, the activists took to streets and started painting English boards with tar. UNI.....
