Temperatures rise in Rajasthan, warmer days ahead

Jaipur, Feb 21 (UNI) People in Rajasthan are getting respite from the continuous cold weather in the past few days as influence of the north-easterlies and the western disturbance have reduced reasonably.

There's a nip in the air only during mornings and nights.

Pilani in Jhunjhunu district recorded the lowest temperature in the state mapping 9.1 degree Celsius.

According to meteorological department, temperatures are rising in most places in the state, making the afternoons warm and sunny. The state capital recorded 10.2 degree Celsius today.

Ganganagar recorded 10.5, Udaipur 10.8, Dholpur 11.5, Churu 11.8, Bharatpur 12.1, Jaisalmer 12.7, Bikaner 14.2, Jhalawar 14.4, Kota 14.9, Sawai Madhopur 15.5, Barmer and Ajmer 15.6 and Jodhpur 15.8 degree Celsius.

The Met office predicts warmer days ahead with a rise of one to two degree Celsius over the next few days with dry weather prevailing over the state.

Kashmir highway closed, snow in Kashmir, Drass and Kargil

Srinagar, Feb 21 (UNI) The Kashmir valley remained cut off from the rest of the country today following closure of the 300-km-long Srinagar- Jammu national highway due to landslides and shooting of stones, triggered by heavy rains. 6 dead, 12 injured as bus falls in Chamera Dam

Chamba, Feb 21 (UNI) Six persons were killed and 12 others injured after a private bus fell into Chamera Dam in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, official sources said here. The driver and conductor of the bus were among those killed, Deputy Commissioner Pushpinder Rajput, who is overseeing the rescue operations, told UNI. The DC has ordered a Magisterial inquiry into the accident, the cause of which was so far not clear. The probe will be headed by SDM Tissa, Rajiv.....

M P Assembly sittings rescheduled

Bhopal, Feb 21 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly will not have its sitting for four days from February 27. This was disclosed by Speaker Ishwardas Rohani today while conveying the house about the recommendations of the business advisory committee. The committee also discussed about changing the sitting schedule from 0900 hours to 1400 on Fridays, he said. The change was being considered to enable the members for their weekend visits to their constituencies. The Asembly's budget session commenced on February.....
