Seven bodies despatched for Pakistan

Panipat, Feb 21 (UNI) Seven bodies of Pakistani nationals, who died in the Samjhauta Express blasts on Sunday night, were sent to Attari to be taken to their homeland across the border.

Documentation for the first batch of bodies was done at a special counter of the Pakistan High Commission set up here. The bodies, accompanied by relatives, were taken in two pick-up vans, officials said here.

Six of them belonged to one family of Karachi--Sayeed Iftikhar Ali (54), Razia Sultan (51), Ashraf Jehan (35), Mehak, Syaeed Hassan Ali (8) and Izhar Hussain (61).

The seventh Pakistani national, was identified as Mohammad Haroon (52) of Karachi.

The Pakistani officials would make arrangements at Attari to transport them to Karachi.

Among the 18 blast victims identified so far, as many as 13 were Pakistanis.

Meanwhile nine Pakistanis, who arrived here this morning, failed to recognise their kin among the bodies lying at the Civil hospital here.

They later left for Delhi to search for their relatives amomg the injured passengers admitted in the Safdarjang Hospital.

Grenade attack on the house of a school owner in north Kashmir

Baramulla, Feb 21 (UNI) A private school owner and his family members escaped unhurt in a hand grenade attack on their house in north Kashmir this afternoon, official sources said. They said unidentified persons hurled a hand grenade towards the house of one Inayat Ullah, a private school owner, at Sopore at 1600 hours this afternoon. Chhattisgarh earmarks Rs 500 cr for new capital

2 killed, another injured in Kashmir Highway accident

Srinagar, Feb 21 (UNI) Two persons, including a police driver were killed and another was wounded when a vehicle skidded and fell into deep gorge on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway this afternoon. An official spokesman said that a vehicle of security wing of Jammu and Kashmir police fell into a 200-feet deep gorge at Shair Bibi when the driver lost control.
