Rs 300-cr sugar mill in MP: Nath

Chhindwara, MP, Feb 21 (UNI) Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath today announced that a roughly Rs 300-crore sugar mill would be set up in this district and a detailed report prepared soon with the guidance of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the district administration.

The announcement was made after a meeting with principal industrialists here. Among those present were Madhya Pradesh Industry Minister Babulal Gaur, Sunil Mittal, Sunil Kant Munjal, Ajay Shriram, Tarun Das, Arun Bhagat Ram and Surendra Kapoor.

''The National Institute of Information Technology will establish a centre here in June, the CII will open a district-level office and also modernise the industrial training institute in partnership with the state government,'' said Mr Nath.

Brain tumour removed by endoscopy

Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) The Neurosurgery team of Wockhardt Hospitals has achieved a breakthrough by successfuly removing a brain tumour from a 40-year-old woman, using minimally invasive surgery technique through endoscope. Addressing a press conference here today, hospital Neurosurgeon Dr Deshpande V Rajkumar said that for the first time in the country, a two-cm-large brain tumour on the optic nerve between the pituitary gland and the brain was successfully removed using a four mm endoscope, guided through the patient's nose.....
