RPI protests TN's demand for new constitution

Chennai, Feb 21 (UNI) Members of the Republic Party of India (RPI) led by its National General Secretary S K Tamilarasan today staged a slogan shouting demonstration here to protest against the Tamil Nadu government's reported move to demand for making a new constitution in view of the changing political and economic scenario.

Party's North Chennai District President V N palayam said if a new constitution was drafted it would affect the interests of dalits and oppressed class.

The protestors also urged the Central and State governments to check the soaring prices of essential commodities.

K'taka Health Dept likely to get enhanced budgetary allocation

Karkala, Karnataka, Feb 26 (UNI) Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Minister R Ashok today said Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister B S Yediyurappa has responded positively to the Ministry's request to increase the budgetary allocation to four per cent. C-in-C Trainig Command visits Command hospital

Bangalore, Feb 26 (UNI) Air Marshal Gurnam Singh Chaudhry, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, Indian Air Force, visited the Command Hopsital here today. The visiting dignitary was presented a guard of honour on his arrival. He complimented the air warriors on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of IAF. HM clarifies on traffic signals

Hyderabad Feb 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy today informed the State Assembly that 17 of the 98 traffic signals in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad were not functioning due to road widening and flyover work. However, junctions were manned by traffic constables to ensure smooth flow of traffic, he said replying to a question from Mr M Ranga Reddy (Cong). Annual maintenance was done by the city police and major repairs taken up by civic.....
