One stabbed to death and two injured in a quarrel

Anand, Feb 21 (UNI) Police today arrested two persons for allegedly killing one person and injuring two others, following a quarrel in Anand town.

A quarrel had erupted between Bharatbhai Prajapati, a snack stall owner and two of his customers last night, after they refused to pay for the snacks they had eaten, police said.

Two of Bharatbhai's friends, who intervened was attacked by the duo in which Jagdish Vaghri was stabbed several times and he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, police added.

Both the injured Bharatbhai and Niel Vasant Patel have been admitted in a city hospital.

Anand Police has arrested the accused - Devang Suresh and Rinku Surendra Gill - and has registered a case of murder against them.

Ahmedabad, Feb 21 (UNI) Eight persons were arrested today on charges of making country liquor from Panchavati area of Karamsad village, about 5 km from here. Acting on a tip-off, Anand local crime branch and Vidyanagar police raided the place and seized Rs 31,500 worth country liquor and 6,300 litre of molasses and other ingredients used for making liquor. 21 industrial units default Central excise payment in Surat

Surat, Feb 22 (UNI) Office of the Commissioner of Central Excise and Customs has informed here that 21 industrial units, with revenue over Rs 50 lakh, have defaulted the payment of Central excise arrears. In a notification issued by the Central Excise Commissionerate, Surat-1, the Additional Commissioner (Recovery) has informed that the government would take coercive action if the dues were not paid immediately. Food stall owner stabbed to death

Kolhapur, Feb 22 (UNI) A food-stall owner was stabbed to death in the Shahupuri area here this evening and two persons have been arrested in this connection. The deceased has been identified as Nagesh Prabhakar Khamkar (35), a resident of the Rajampuri locality here, police inspector G P Dabade informed. Police have arrested two brothers, Kadane brothers, in connection with the murder. The Kadane brothers also run a food-stall here, Mr Dabade said.
