NSCN (IM) cadre surrenders in Arunachal

Itanagar, Feb 21 (UNI) An NSCN (IM) cadre has surrendered before the Army at Chongkhgam in Lohit district.

Vijay Chakma, from Changlang district, laid down his arms before Commanding Officer K S Nurpuri of 581 Life Regiment on Monday in a surrender ceremony, a delayed report said here today.

The cadre joined the outfit in 2006, but left it on December 24 last and has been in hiding for the past 25 days to avoid retaliation from his rebel colleagues, sources added.

30 projects with over Rs 28,000 cr investment cleared

Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) Karnataka Major Industries Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu today said the eighth State High-level Clearance Committee approved 30 new industrial projects with an investment of Rs 28,202.05 crore. Talking to reporters here, he said the meeting, held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister today, approved the 30 projects, to come up in 18 districts. Contempt of court petition against Kumaraswamy rejected

Bangalore, Feb 23 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today rejected a criminal contempt of court petition against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for allegedly committing contempt of the Supreme court and the High Court. A Division Bench, comprising Mr Justice Gururajan and Mr Justice Anand Byrareddy, dismissed the petition, filed by city Advocate A V Amarnathan. The petitioner contended that Mr Kumaraswamy and his brother and State Energy Minister H D Revanna had made a scathing attack on the State.....

NABARD sanctions funds for Tripura

Agartala, Feb 21 (UNI) National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned further financial asistance of Rs 59.87 crore to Tripura for construction of 26 rural bridges. This makes the cumulative sanction from Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) to the state to Rs 161.30 crore, an official release today said. The sanction from RIDF is the highest till now to Tripura as well AS to the entire Northeast. NABARD has already sanctioned RIDF loan of Rs 74.33 crore in.....
