New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) The India-Pakistan Agreement on reducing the risks of nuclear accidents entered into force today after both countries signed it following talks between their respective Foreign Ministers and the Fifth Joint Commission Meeting here.

The Agreement was signed by Mr K C Singh, Additional Secretary in the External Affairs Ministry, and Mr Tariq Osman Hyder, Additional Secretary (UN, EC) in the Pakistan Foreign Ministry.

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri were also present.

''The Agreement enters into force with immediate effect,'' a Joint Press Release issued after talks between the two Foreign Ministers said.

The two countries had agreed to sign the Agreement during talks between their Foreign Secretaries here on November 14.

The two Foreign Ministers who met in Islamabad on January 13, had agreed that the Agreement would be signed when they meet again in New Delhi for the Fifth India-Pakistan Joint Commission Meeting (JCM).

Before the signing of the Agreement, Mr Mukherjee and Mr Kasuri held discussions on various aspects of bilateral relations and reviewed the Composite Dialogue Process (CDP) which has entered its fourth round.
