ICSA bags order from AP power distribution company

Mumbai, Feb 21 (UNI) ICSA (India) Limited, a leading provider of embedded technology to check losses in the power sector, has secured contracts worth Rs 32.30 crore from Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company.

The order involves erecting, testing and commissioning of 33/11 KV sub-stations in four districts namely Mahabubnagar, Medak, Kurnool and Nalgond of Andhra Pradesh on total turnkey basis. The projects are slated to be completed within a period of three months, said a company release here today.

These orders consolidate ICSA's presence in Andhra Pradesh bringing the number to 15 projects in AP alone. ''The ICSA undertakes power projects across the country and we want to balance our orders evenly between private and public sector companies,'' Company managing director G Bala Reddy said in the release.

ICSA has attracted foreign investment to the tune of USD 52 million. Citigroup Venture Capital International Growth Partnership Mauritius Limited (CVC) is acquiring around 14 per cent stake in the company with an investment of USD 30 million and Goldman Sachs will also be investing USD 22 million in ICSA through FCCBs.

ICSA and Oil India Limited have recently received provisional patent for iCAP, an innovative technology that improves efficiency of conventional Cathodic Protection, forecasts pilferage/pipeline tampering in real time and improves the life of pipelines to achieve design life and eliminates the requirement of expensive conventional measurements. This system is cost effective and meets international standards and compatibility.

Guar contract settles at Rs 1767, Soya oil at Rs 437 per 10 kg

Ahmedabad, Feb 21 (UNI) National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) has settled the Guar seed (February ) contract at Rs.1767 per quintal and Soya oil (February) at Rs.437 per 10 kg as the futures trading for the February series that matured yesterday. While Guar seed was traded in the range of Rs 2084 in December first week and Rs.1825 this month. Soya oil was traded in the range of Rs.481.05 and Rs.436.15 over the same period. Meanwhile, NMCE has introduced the new June-2007.....

Call money ends lower on improved liquidity at 6.80-7.00 pc

Mumbai,Feb 21 (UNI) The Interbank call money today closed softer at 6.80/7.00 per cent compared with the previous close of 7.80-7.90 per cent, dealers said. The fall was due to the expectations that tight money conditions would ease as the government will increase spending. The yield on the 10-year bond ended at 7.92 per cent, down from 8 per cent at the previous close. Total volume was Rs 6200 crore (USD 1.4 billion), with the 7.37 per cent bond.....

IT collection target achieved in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Feb 21 (UNI) Gujarat has achieved its Income Tax collection target in the current financial year, according to Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Raj Kishore. The Chief Commissioner, while addressing an ''Open House on Income Tax'' organised by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today, said, ''We have even achieved the revised target.''
