Seminar on reforming education begins tomorrow

Agartala, Feb 20 (UNI) A three-day seminar on 'Reforming Education in North-East India', will be held at the Tripura University near here from tomorrow.

Eminent academicians from different parts of the country including Delhi, Kolkata, and the North-Eastern states as well as Vice-Chancellors of different universities are expected to be present in the seminar.

The seminar is sponsored by the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, and organised by the Tripura University, official sources said.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will be the Chief Guest, while Prof J B Ganguly, the first Vice-chancellor of the Tripura University has agreed to inaugurate the seminar.

Mr P P Srivastava, member of the North Eastern Council (NEC) Shillong, will deliver the key note address and Vice-chancellor of Tripura University Prof Ashok Kumar Mukhopadhaya will preside the inaugural session, sources added.

State govt adopts ambitious scheme for safe drinking water

Shayam Sunder to be Sahebganj DC

Ranchi, Feb 20 (UNI) Jharkhand tourism additional secretary Shayam Sunder Prasad has been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Sahebganj, an official release said here today. Mr Prasad would take over the charge in place of Junnu Kisku, who was on leave. Biocon, Bentley receive approval from DGCI for Nasulin

Bangalore, Feb 20 (UNI) India's largest Insulin producer, Biocon Limited, today announced that its licensing partner, Bentley Pharmaceuticals Inc, a speciality pharma company, has received approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) to proceed with Phase II clinical evaluation of Nasulin in Type II diabetics. This approval followed the completion of Bentley's pharmacokinetic clinical studies of Nasulin studies in India.
