School boy murdered by unidentified persons

Vijayawada, Feb 20 (UNI) A 10 year-old school boy was brutally murdered by some unidentified persons in the city today.

According to police here the incident came to light when the body was found dumped behind the APSRTC quarters.

The boy, C Raghav Krishna Chaitanya, had left for his house four days back.

The body was sent to the Government General Hospital for post mortem.

The reason for the murder was being investigated, police added.

35 minor girls rescued from trafficking

Nalgonda, Feb 20 (UNI) Police have rescued 35 minor girls, after arresting 15 members of an inter-state woman trafficking racket from Chandrapur in Maharashtra. The rescued minors, including six from Maharashtra and one from Karnataka, were produced before Suryapet court, Superintendent of Police Ravindra Kadam said in a release here today. While the seven arrested belonged to Warangal, three were from Nalgonda, two from Hyderabad and one each from Khammam, Guntur and Maharashtra. Later, the arrested were remanded in judicial custody......

NCWR to launch nationwide movement from tommorow

Allahabad, Feb 26 (UNI) The recently formed National Coalition For Workers (NCWR), a national forum committed to create an equitable and exploitation free society, will launch a nationwide movement from tomorrow. ''There are 39 crore labourers in the unorganised sector which constitute 95 per cent of the labour force. These labourers, especially women, contribute 2/3 in the total Gross Domestic Product (GDP). It's painful that they are devoid of any social security even after Independence,'' NCWR National General Secretary Subhashish Chakravorty.....

Lok Ayukta urges CS to restore encroached forest land

Bangalore, Feb 20 (UNI) Karnataka Lok Ayukta Mr Justice N Santosh Hegde today urged the State Chief Secretary to take immediate steps to restore land encroached in Turahalli forest, adjacent to the city, by private and public servants and the Bangalore Development Authority. Moga, Feb 26 (UNI) A seven-member team of prominent literary figures from Pakistan, here to attend week-long 'Punjabi Mother Tongue celebrations', today said they were pressing upon the Pakistan government to introduce Punjabi language at the primary level. Police arrest four, seize Star-fish, Leeches, Conches

Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, Feb 20 (UNI) Police today arrested four persons and seized maring specris worth Rs 50 lakh in the international market from Threspuram near here. Police said all the marine species star-fish-Leeches and Conches were seized from a godown, belonging to one Meerasha (30), based on a tip off. Nine cylinders, two four-wheelers, two bikes, nine cell phones and 300 litres of diesel were also seized. The arrested were Anto (36), Regan (26), Peter (52) and Abdul Nazar (24).....
