Police solve murder mystery

Hyderabad, Feb 20 (UNI) The city police have solved the murder of one Thakur Narayan Singh last year by an advocate, who committed the deed to encash insurance policies worth Rs 67 lakh in Singh's name.

An official release here said the advocate Tharachand Choudary had taken Singh to the Kuntala waterfalls in Adilabad district on November 30 last year.

Tharachand Choudary with the help of his car driver Laxminarayana Goud and office boy L Dilip Reddy pushed Thakur Narayan Singh into 'Somanna Gundam' to make it appear as an accidental death.

The Advocate had promised Rs 20,000 and a motor cycle to Goud and some cash to the office boy, the release added.

Special teams to probe murder cases

Vijayawada, Feb 20 (UNI) City Police Commissioner C V Anand tonight announced the setting up two special investigation teams (SIT) comprising 16 personnel to unravel the mystery behind two murders in the city, including that of a ten-year-old boy. The teams have been asked to concentrate on the cases till the accused were arrested and produced before the court. Rowdy murdered by gang

Chennai, Feb 20 (UNI) A 32-year-old rowdy was fatally murdered by an unidentified gang at a fishing harbour area at Ennore in North Chennai early today. Police said the deceased M Agatheeswaran, accused in a murder case and currently on bail was walking along the fishing harbour when the gang intercepted him.
