One injured, 15 houses damaged in cyclinder explosion

Chennai, Feb 20 (UNI) One person was seriously injured and 15 houses badly damaged when an LPG cylinder exploded at a house in a three-storied building at Jaferkhanpet in the city early today.

According to police, the incident took place when Senthil Kumar, driver of a private taxi firm, forgot to switch off the gas cylinder in the kitchen last night. When he switched on the electrical light this morning, the cylinder exploded, injuring him seriously.

The condition of Senthil Kumar, admitted to the Government Kilpauk Medical College hospital here was stated to be critical.

Security intensified in K'taka railway stations
