NCDEX records trade worth Rs 3,007 cr

Mumbai, Feb 20 (UNI) About 608 members (2,789 users) of the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) today participated in trading up to 1700 hrs and volumes traded were Rs 3,007 crore (one-way).

There were 92,560 trades put through by them. Active trades were in guarseeds, chana, refined soy oil, pepper, jeera and gold, an NCDEX release here said.

Yesterday, about 608 members participated in trading and put through 103,980 trades. The volume of trading yesterday till 2330 hrs was around Rs 3,229 crore (one-way). Active trades were in guarseed, chana, jeera, refined soya oil, pepper and gold, the release added.

Call money eases to ends at 7.80-7.90 per cent

Mumbai, Feb 20 (UNI) Call money closed 10 basis points lower at 7.80-7.90 per cent today, compared to yesterday's closing of 7.70-7.80, on hopes that measures taken by the Central Bank and the government may tame inflation, which is running at more than a two-year high. HLL net sales up 9%

Mumbai, Feb 20 (UNI) Announcing its fourth quarter and CY06 results, Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL) today said its net sales was up 9 per cent at Rs 12103.39 crore as against Rs 11060.6 crore in the previous year. The net profit surged by 32 per cent to Rs 1855.37 crore as compared to Rs 1408.1 crore. The OPM reported at 13.6 per cent against 13 per cent while the CY06 EPS improved to Rs 8.4 as against Rs 7.3......

Indian tea enters markets in Egypt, Iran

Guwahati, Feb 20 (UNI) The tea producers in the country is vying to tap the overseas markets in Egypt and Iran to boost exports that has remained static for the last two years. Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh today informed here that the Tea Board of Indian in collaboration with tea plantations associations would set up a tea marketing center at Cairo in March to cater to the growing demand for Indian tea in Egypt.
