Lok Dal to go it all alone in UP assembly poll

Jaunpur, Feb 20 (UNI) Lok Dal (LD) today reiterated it will not enter into any pre-poll alliance in the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha election in Uttar Pradesh.

''Our party is not dependent on any political party...so there is no question of having a pre-poll alliance. LD will field candidates for all the assembly seats,'' party state president Abdul Haq Ansari said addressing a news conference here.

''The name of cadidates would be decided at a meeting headed by LD national president Rajendra Singh in Lucknow on February 21,'' Mr Ansari added.

Expressing concern over the 'dismal' law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, he alleged over the years, crime has increased in the state, but Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav was not bothered.

He demanded President's rule in UP, alleging free and fair assembly poll is impossible under Mr Yadav's rule.
