India-Pak should 'meaningfully cooperate' on terror: Kasuri

New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri today stressed the need for India and Pakistan to ''meaningfully cooperate'' against terrorism, particularly on incidents like the Samjhauta Express explosions which threaten to derail the peace process.

''Terrorism is a worldwide phenomenon. The need of the hour is to cooperate meaningfully to combat such terror attacks...

Heart-rending incidents like this attack (Delhi-Attari Samjhauta Express blasts) which target the people of the two nations,'' Mr Kasuri said at the Safdarjung hospital where eleven injured of the blasts are admitted.

Immediately after touch down in India from Islamabad, the Pakistan Foreign Minister rushed to Safdarjung hospital to meet the injured, mostly Pakistani nationals.

Mr Kasuri said he was hopeful that his visit will improve bilateral relations and carry forward the peace process.

''I have come here to improve relations and carry forward the peace process. I am looking forward to meaningful talks with the Indian leadership,'' he told reporters.

New Delhi, Feb 20 (UNI) A two-day national workshop on Biological and chemical disaster management is being organised here from February 22 to increase awareness about it. The workshop being organised by the National Disaster Management Authority will address various aspects of biological and chemical disasters including management, response, community awareness, training and capacity development of these disasters.
