Haryana cabinet condemns Samjhauta Express blasts

Chandigarh, Feb 20 (UNI) The Haryana Cabinet today passed a resolution expressing its deep shock and dismay at the 'Samjhauta Express' blasts and termed the incident ''a cowardly act of terrorism'' A two minutes silence was also observed in the cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, to pay homage to all those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.

''We severely condemn the senseless crime against innocent persons and resolve to fight and end terrorism at all levels. We express our heart-felt condolences to the families of the deceased and wish for early recovery of the injured,'' the resolution said.

''We hope that such acts of the frustrated terrorists will have no effect on the ongoing peace process between the two countries. We also hope that this incident will further strengthen the resolve of both the nations to establish everlasting peace in the sub-continent, '' it added.

15 students, 3 teachers drown in boat tragedy

Kochi, Feb 20 (UNI) Fifteen students and three teachers drowned and ten others injured when the boat in which they were taking a joyride on an excursion, capsized at Ovungal Kadavu in the Periyar River today. Though Ernakulam District Collector had stated that 20 students died in the accident, the police sources confirmed the death toll as 18. Haryana Police releases sketches of 2 suspects

Panipat, Feb 20 (UNI) Claiming vital clues, the Haryana Police today released the sketches of two suspects who could be behind the twin blasts in the Samjhauta Express which left 68 people dead yesterday. Addressing a press conference here, Rohtak range IGP Sharad Kumar said the two suspects were seen arguing with the RPF personnel in one of the coaches of the Samjhuata Express as it was running from Delhi towards Panipat. They claimed they had boarded the wrong train.....
