Haryana amends tax rules for Brick Kiln Owners

Chandigarh, Feb 20 (UNI) The Haryana Cabinet today decided not to revise the lump sum (tax) rates for Brick Kiln Owners (BKOs) till September 30, 2008 in view of the hardship being faced by them.

It was decided to amend the Haryana Value Added Tax Rules, 2003 in this regard.

Now, the lump sum tax rates on brick kiln which were revised for the period from October 1, 2005 to September 30, 2006, would be effective retrospectively from October 1, 2006 to September 30, 2008.

The Haryana Pradesh Brick Kiln Owners Association had already given an undertaking that they would accept an increase of 20 per cent in the rate of tax thereafter.

National Grid will be enhanced to 37,000 MW BY 2012: Shinde

Completion of Kollam-Kottappuram waterway by 2008: CM

CM denies difference in Cabinet over ADB loan

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 5 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told the State Assembly today that there had been no difference in his Cabinet over availing the Asian Development Bank (ADB) loan for Sustainable Urban Development Proects being implemented by municipal corporations in the state.
