GCCI Open House on income-tax tomorrow in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, Feb 20 (UNI) Gujarat Chamber of Commerce&Industry (GCCI) has organised an Open House on Income-Tax at the chamber premises at 1600 hrs tomorrow.

Mr Raj Kishore, Chief Commissioner of Income-tax I, Mr R C Prakash, Chief Commissioner of IT-II and Ms J D Sahay, Director General of IT (investigation), would address the members and deal with the grievances of tax payers, says a GCCI release.

The chamber is organising the session jointly with All Gujarat Federation of Tax Consultants, Ahmedabad branch of WIRC of ICAI, IT Bar Association and Chartered Accountants Association.

371 get jobs in 'Mega Job Fair-2007'

Ahmedabad, Feb 20 (UNI) The 'Mega Job Fair - 2007', organised by District Employment Exchange office here today, helped secure jobs for 371 candidates at different places. As many as 36 employers including industrial units, marketing agencies, BPOs, call centres participated in the fair. Of the 6,737 candidates called for interviews for 1,564 vacancies, 371 were selected, a release said. Six MSRTC employees booked for theft of diesel

Nagpur, Feb 21 (UNI) Six employees of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) here have been booked for stealing 4,284 litres of diesel worth Rs 1.61 lakh by making short deliveries of fuel to the corporation's buses. According to police, the six employees, while working in the depot of MSRTC's city bus service here, tampered with the fuel pump to ensure that it delivered 25 millilitre less diesel for every 5 litres when the vehicles were refuelled. Bharitya Kisan Sangh highlights farmers plight

Ahmedabad, Feb 21 (UNI) Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Gujarat President Prafull Senjaliya has expressed concern over deteriorating state of farmers in the country. ''Even half a century after independence the state of farmers in the country is miserable, as they don't get proper price for their produce. The apathetic attitude of the government has put the farmers on the brink of suicide,'' Mr Senjaliya said in the memorandum to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
