Gambler commits suicide

Gulbarga, Feb 20 (UNI) An youth allegedly committed sucide by jumping into river Bheema after he lost huge money in online lottery, here today.

Police said Mallikarjun Basaiah Matpathi (25), a habitual gambler of online lottery, had borrowed Rs 20,000 from his friend to indulge in his favourite pastime. But, he had lost all the money.

As his friend forced him to repay the money, Matpathi asked him to come to Jewargi town, about 40 km from here. However, he could not repay the amount. While returning to the city along with his brother-in-law, he suddenly alighted the bus on Kattasanghavi bridge and jumped into the river.

Efforts were on to fish out the body.

Rowdy murdered by gang

Chennai, Feb 20 (UNI) A 32-year-old rowdy was fatally murdered by an unidentified gang at a fishing harbour area at Ennore in North Chennai early today. Police said the deceased M Agatheeswaran, accused in a murder case and currently on bail was walking along the fishing harbour when the gang intercepted him. School boy murdered by unidentified persons

Vijayawada, Feb 20 (UNI) A 10 year-old school boy was brutally murdered by some unidentified persons in the city today. According to police here the incident came to light when the body was found dumped behind the APSRTC quarters. The boy, C Raghav Krishna Chaitanya, had left for his house four days back. The body was sent to the Government General Hospital for post mortem. The reason for the murder was being investigated, police added. UNI.....

35 minor girls rescued from trafficking

Nalgonda, Feb 20 (UNI) Police have rescued 35 minor girls, after arresting 15 members of an inter-state woman trafficking racket from Chandrapur in Maharashtra. The rescued minors, including six from Maharashtra and one from Karnataka, were produced before Suryapet court, Superintendent of Police Ravindra Kadam said in a release here today. While the seven arrested belonged to Warangal, three were from Nalgonda, two from Hyderabad and one each from Khammam, Guntur and Maharashtra. Later, the arrested were remanded in judicial custody......
