Asst Commercial Tax Officer caught redhanded for accepting bribe

Bangalore, Feb 20 (UNI) An Assistant Commercial Tax Officer in Commercial Tax Office, Hassan, was caught redhanded by Karnataka Lokayukta sleuths while accepting bribe.

S G Suragimat was caught while accepting Rs 1,500 from Mr H C Shashidhar for illegally issuing certificate to start a new business.

Syndicate Bank introduces two new Term Deposit Schemes

Bangalore, Feb 26 (UNI) Public Sector Syndicate Bank today announced the introduction of two new Term Deposit Schemes - 'Synd 400 Plus' and 'Synd 500 Plus'. A sum of Rs 25,000 would be the single minimum deposit accepted for both the schemes. While the term of 'Synd 400 Plus' would be 400 days to 499 days, it would be 500 days to less than two years for 'Synd 500 Plus', according to a bank release here. Public servants sent jail in bribery case

Patna, Feb 21 (UNI) Special vigilance judge of Patna S.P.N.Singh today remanded two public servants in judicial custody till March 2 in separate bribery cases. Agriculture officer of Chandi block, Nalanda district, Dinesh Kumar Mandal and a clerk of district education superintendent's office, Patna, Dinesh kumar were today produced before the designated judge after their arrests yesterday. Indian Bank provides educational loan to 26000 students

Puducherry, Feb 26 (UNI) The Indian Bank had extended educational loan to the tune of Rs 260 crore to 26,000 students till December 2006 during the financial year 2006-07, CMD of the bank K C Chakraborty said here today. In an informal chat with newspersons on the sidelines of the Bharat Nirman Information campaign, Mr Chakraborty said the loan amount was expected to reach Rs 300 crore by the end of the financial year, and Rs 600 crore provided to 60,000.....

Three govt employees arrested for accepting bribe

Patna, Feb 21 (UNI) Sleuths of state vigilance bureau today arrested three government employees at different places for accepting illegal gratification.
