371 get jobs in 'Mega Job Fair-2007'

Ahmedabad, Feb 20 (UNI) The 'Mega Job Fair - 2007', organised by District Employment Exchange office here today, helped secure jobs for 371 candidates at different places.

As many as 36 employers including industrial units, marketing agencies, BPOs, call centres participated in the fair.

Of the 6,737 candidates called for interviews for 1,564 vacancies, 371 were selected, a release said.

The fair was inaugurated by Gujarat Small Scale Industries Federation President Maganbhai Patel, the release added.

Nagpur, Feb 21 (UNI) Six employees of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) here have been booked for stealing 4,284 litres of diesel worth Rs 1.61 lakh by making short deliveries of fuel to the corporation's buses. According to police, the six employees, while working in the depot of MSRTC's city bus service here, tampered with the fuel pump to ensure that it delivered 25 millilitre less diesel for every 5 litres when the vehicles were refuelled. Ahmedabad, Feb 21 (UNI) Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Gujarat President Prafull Senjaliya has expressed concern over deteriorating state of farmers in the country. One stabbed to death and two injured in a quarrel

Anand, Feb 21 (UNI) Police today arrested two persons for allegedly killing one person and injuring two others, following a quarrel in Anand town. A quarrel had erupted between Bharatbhai Prajapati, a snack stall owner and two of his customers last night, after they refused to pay for the snacks they had eaten, police said. Ahmedabad, Feb 21 (UNI) Eight persons were arrested today on charges of making country liquor from Panchavati area of Karamsad village, about 5 km from here. Acting on a tip-off, Anand local crime branch and Vidyanagar police raided the place and seized Rs 31,500 worth country liquor and 6,300 litre of molasses and other ingredients used for making liquor.
