New Delhi, Feb 9: Ruling out any possibility of organ trade in theNithari serial killings, the CBI today said it would file its firstcharge sheet into the case within three months or earlier.
Talking to mediapersons CBI Director Vijay Shankar saidinvestigations so far indicate that the killings in Nithari villagewere mostly done by ''one of the two accused arrested''.
''Though investigations are still on, one thing was clear that sofar no evidence has been found, even doubt arisen, that any organ tradeangle was involved in the killings.'' Refusing to say anything on the'cause of the murders', he said report of experts were awaited whilestressing that each of the 19 cases registered were being examinedseparately, and not being ''generalised'' and added that charge sheetsinto the cases would be filed very soon and hopefully the first onecould be within the next three months.
''It could be even earlier,'' he said.
Regarding the 'tests' carried out on the skeletal remains recovered, hesaid forensic tests on them had been completed but the report was yetto be submitted by the scientists. ''As the next step we have sent itfor DNA examination to Hyderabad. Blood samples of the parents of thevictims have also been taken and they would be matched with theidentities of those missing.'' Each and every input was being harnessedbesides ensuring that it was done in the earliest possible time, hetold the media.
While accepting that the killings seemed to be the handiwork of apervert or a psychopath, the CBI chief said each murder was committedafter deliberate planning and was a conscious attempt to kill.
''It does appear that they were perverts or psychopaths as theincident was not only exceptional in character but had also shaken theconscience of the nation.'' Calling the January 25 assault on the twoaccused in Ghaziabad court premises as unwarranted, Mr Shankar said hehoped the state government would carry out its responsibilities toprotect them properly while stating that ''yesterday's performance ofthe Uttar Pradesh Police was excellent''.
