After inaugurating the plant, Company Chairman Karan Thapar said the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility would produce Transit Mixers for the growing infrastructure sector in India. It would compliment the existing unit, enabling the company to increase its production capacity to over 200 Transit Mixers per month.
Driving this manufacturing unit is a team of seasoned professionals whose cutting-edge engineering skills and pioneering experience come together to create a world-class product in India.
Claiming that the company was a leading manufacturer and supplier of construction equipment such as Transit Mixers, Vibratory Compactors, Tandem Rollers, Batching Plants and Concrete Pumps for modern construction projects, he said these products, apart from being superior in technology, were cost effective and easy to maintain.
The equipment for laying roads was manufactured at the company's Heavy Engineering Unit-I, adjacent to the new factory. With three manufacturing units, Greaves would consolidate its leadership position in this segment, he added.
Adhering to strict high performance requirements, Greaves transit mixers are specially designed for mounting on Ashok Leyland/Tata trucks for superior maneuverability on city roads, he said.
A Rs 900 crore, multi-product, multi-locational company, Greaves with core competencies in the areas of engines and infrastructure equipment sustains its leadership through seven manufacturing units, which produce world class products backed by comprehensive marketing and service/parts network throughout the country, he added.
