SAD (Badal) promises to set up trade development boards

Jalandhar, Feb 3 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) today promised that if it came in power in Punjab, it would set up a number of boards to promote theme of ''make and implement your policy'' approach for industrialists, traders and youths.

The party has promised setting up of three development boards--one each for large scale medium scale and small scale industries and seperate trade development boards for all the three.

The boards would be constituted with representation from respective sectors and the chairpersons of these boards would be accorded cabinet minister's status.

These boards would formulate policies of the government in respect of their respective sector and would facilitate all round development of their sectors.

Similarly, a youth development board would be setting for ensuring proper dealing of youth affairs, including employment, training and sports development.

The board would comprise 11 members and the chairperson would have rank of a cabinet minister.

The party also plans to implement new scheme of employment loans for youths under which loans amounting to Rs five lakh to 25 lakh would be given to youths for self employment on consessional rate of interest.

The party also promised to make Punjab a power surplus state within three years of coming to power.

US promised not to extend drone attacks in Balochistan : Zardari

Lahore, Apr.9 (ANI): Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the United States has promised not to extend the drone strikes to Balochistan.In an interview with The Daily Times, Zardari said the Pakistan government has communicated its discontent over Washington's plan to carry out missile strikes against terror hideouts in Balochistan, replying to which the US had assured that it would not target the new region.Zardari hoped that Balochistan's problem would be solved by the year end......
