Jaswant denies he resigns as RS Leader of Oppn

New Delhi, Jan 28: Former External Affairs Minister in the NDA government Jaswant Singh today ''categorically rejected'' reports that he had resigned as Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha.

Describing the news as ''fictitious'', Mr Singh denied that any such thing had taken place or that his resignation letter was lying with former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee.

In a statement issued by his Secretary, the former Union Minister said contents of the news were being ''denied, rejected categorically and totally''.

Mr Singh is presently out of the country.

No consular access to indians in Pak jail: Pranab

New Delhi, Mar 14:  The government today informed the Lok Sabha that at least 92 Indian civilian prisoners in Pakistani jails have yet not been given consular access."Besides 390 fishermen and 149 civilian prisoners and 74 PoWs are still languishing in Pakistani jails," External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said in a written reply.The minister was asked whether the government had any reports of inhuman treatment meted out to Indian prisoners in Paksitan.The minsiter said Indian prisoners released by Pakistan had reported.....
