Cabinet approves 49 crore for 11th Plan

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 24: The Kerala Government today approved an outlay of Rs 49,421 crore for the Eleventh Plan and Rs 6,950 crore as outlay for the 2007-2008 annual plan, Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told after a Cabinet meeting.

He said the state's outlay for the Tenth Plan was Rs 24,000 crore.

The Cabinet also decided to exempt tea, coffee and cardamom plantations from taxation for one year taking into consideration the crisis in the plantation industry.

Mr Achuthanandan said a financial assistance of Rs five lakh would be given to the 12-year-old boy Akash whose both legs were amputated after an accident involving a police recovery van at Kozhikode recently. He would also be given suitable employment in government service after his education, the Chief Minister said.

South Asian service trade proposal approved

Kathmandu, Jan 22 (ANI): India's proposal regarding the South Asian service trade has been approved by the other countries in the region.According to Kantipur, the special committee meeting on the agreement was chaired by Bidra Pokhrel, General Secretary of the Nepal Ministry of Commerce and Supplies."All the countries in the region have given the green signal to the proposal. Although it will take some time for Bangladesh to make its constitution, the agreement has been approved by others,".....
