BSP releases first list of 50 candidates for Assembly poll

Dehradun, Jan 21 (UNI) The BSP, which has announced it would field its candidates in all 70 constituencies in Uttarakhand for Assembly election slated to be held on February 22, today released the first list of its 50 candidates.

''List of remaining 20 candidates will be released on January 24,'' said BSP State-in-charge Ram Achal Rajbhar today said.

The list included Surya Prakash (Purola), Chetram Boddh (Gangotri), Darshan Lal (Yamunotri), Sumer Chand Bisht (Pratapnagar), Sohan Singh Kunwar (Ghansali), Devchand Tamta (Devprayag), Jaiprakash Kothari (Narendranagar), Rukmani Devla (Dhanolti), Bhagat Chandra Bhagat (Chakrata), Major M.K. Hussain (Vikasnagar), Chaudhary Shish Pal (Sahaspur), Ajay Sood (Rajpur), Devendra Singh Kataria (Doiwala), Surendra Rakesh (Bhagwanpur), Ram Singh Saini (Roorkee), Chaudhary Yashvir Singh (Iqbalpur MLA), Kazi Nizamuddin (Manglore MLA), Haridas (Landhoura MLA), Pal Singh Kasyap (Luxsar), Md. Nainwal (Jageshwar), Mahesh Bhatt (Nainital), Kishori Lal (Ramnagar), Sardar Avtar Singh (Kashipur), Sardar Jasvinder Singh Gill (Bajpur), Premanand Mahajan (Pantnagar-Gadarpur MLA), Tussavar Khan (Rudrapur), Narain Pal (Sitarganj MLA), Bhim Singh Rana (Khatima), Tahir Hussain (Champawat), Ambi Ram (Lohaghat), Bahadur Ram (Gangolihaat), Yogesh Thapola (Didihaat) and Rajendra Kudiyal (Dharchula).

The party has repeated its seven sitting MLAs again this time.

In the last Assembly election BSP had fielded 68 candidates, out of which seven had managed to win.

Mr Rajbhar told mediapersons here today that his party would form his government or else no party would be formed without its support.

When asked which party it would support in the state to form the government, he said this would depend on the result of the election and could be decided only after counting on February 27.
