BSP releases list of 32 more candidates for Punjab assembly polls

Jalandhar, Jan 20 (UNI) The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today released its second list of 32 candidates for the February 13 Punjab assembly elections.

With this, the party had so far announced candidates for 105 of total 117 assembly seats, BSP national general secretary Narendra Kashyap told reporters here today.

He said that party has decided to contest all 117 assembly seats in the state on its own and the names of candidates on the remaining 12 seats would be announced by the next two days.

Mr Kashyap said that the party had given representation to all sections of society. Of the 105 candidates fielded by the party 37 are from the general higher castes, 23 from other backward classes (OBCs) and 44 from the scheduled castes(SCs) and one from the scheduled tribe (ST).

Mr Kashyap claimed that the presence of his party in the fray would make the contest triangular or multicornered and BSP would play a crucial role in the formation of next government after the elections.

Mulayam announces Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia each to rape victims
