BSP nominee woos voters with milk

Chandigarh, Jan 18: In a novel way to woo voters, Paramjit Singh a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) nominee for the coming assembly elections in Punjab is serving milk to them as against liquor which is often used by some candidates to win their favour.

BSP nominee in the prestigious Patiala assembly constituency, represented by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, Paramjit Singh says "he is distributing milk among the voters to counter the liquor-laced campaign of the candidates of the other political parties".

''While others resort to the evil practice of distributing liquor, I have chosen to serve them a healthy drink,'' he adds.

Milk is available at his three election offices in Patiala town while Paramjit says he would try to arrange larger quantity of milk to supply in other areas of his constituency.

Paramjit has sought the help of BSP workers to collect more and more milk to be distributed among the people in the run-up to the elections.

In fact, the BSP nominee has promised to distribute ghee among the voters if he is elected to the Vidhan Sabha.
