Addressing a press conference here today, state Home Minister K Jana Reddy said the government would initially recruit 3000 home guards.
He said the law and order in the state was very good and naxal menace was also brought under control.
The 1856 Police Act should be amended and the Centre had appointed a Commission to submit its report in this regard.
He said the state cabinet would discuss the recommendations of the commission and would pass a Bill to implement the commission's recommendations.
The Minister said the government was committed to the welfare of poor and had distributed hundred acres of land to weaker sections.
Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stone for a Water Project at Lankalakoderu village.
