Non-judicial stamp papers may be sold in all nationalised banks

Bangalore, Jan 3 (UNI) The Karnataka Government plans to expand the sale of non-judicial stamp papers to all nationalised banks and the cooperative sector, Revenue Minister Jagdish Shettar informed today.

Talking to reporters here, he said the Government had received large scale complaints from the public about the inconvenience in getting stamp papers as its sale was limited to only two nationalised banks presently. If this move was implemented, sale of stamp papers would be taken up in as many as 1,000 branches as against the present 300 branches in the State.

The Minister said he had held a meeting with the officials of the Registration department and nationalised banks in this connection.

The Government would take a decision after getting the proposals from the banks concerned, he added.

Rice questions why Saudi might need nuke energy
