Militants, security forces exchange fire in JK

Baramulla, Jan 4: Militants today attacked a security force patrol party with automatic weapons at Chanakhan, Sopore in north Kashmir, official sources said.

They said a patrol party was fired upon by the militants at Chanakhan this morning. Security forces also retaliated the fire and the exchange continued for about ten minutes. However, no one was injured in the firing, the sources added Later, reinforcement was rushed to the area from nearby camps, the sources said adding search operation was going on there and adjacent Dangerpora.

Sydney: Algeri's Nouria Merah-Benida won the women's 1,500 metres gold medal after a thrilling sprint finish on Saturday. Shahrukh Khan's house in Mumbai attacked
