Life in Sopore remained paralysed for second day today

Baramulla, Jan 4 (UNI) Life remained crippled for the second day today in Sopore in the north Kashmir district in protest against the January 1 killing of two militants of Pakistan based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT).

Shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads. Work in government offices and other commercial establishments was also affected due to spontaneous strike on the ''Charram'' (4th day) of slain militants.

Additional police personnel have been deployed in the town to thwart any attempt by the miscreants to disrupt peace.

Two LeT militants, including a top commander Showkat Ahmad Najar alias Muna Janawari, were killed by the security forces at Muslim Peer Mohalla in Sopore area of this district on January one.

Janawari was wanted in several militancy-related incidents, police said.

Kashmiris protest against killing of two youths in Sopore town

Baramula, Feb 22 (ANI): A number of agitated Kashmiri people took to street here over the killing of two local youths allegedly by security personnel in Sopore town of Jammu and Kashmir.Protesters alleged that security personnel had fired at a group of youth returning from a festival at a Sufi shrine here."I heard that the army was coming back from an operation and was passing through the route of an on-going fair. The boys on the route hooted on.....
