IAFL extends tie-up with BSES till March 31

New Delhi, Jan 4 (UNI) Extending its association with BSES for the buy one get one scheme, Indo Asian Fusegear (IAFL), one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of CFLs in India today said the offer will be valid till March 31.

The company sold over 1.5 lakh CFL bulbs under the scheme that would lead to a saving of nearly 10 MW of power in the capital, it said in a statement.

Under the scheme, the sale of CFLs was undertaken from October 24, 2006 at 52 special kiosks at BSES customer care centres and select cash counters across the BSES distribution in Delhi.

Mr V P Mahendru, CMD, IAFL said, ''Residents of Delhi are substituting the normal incandescent bulbs with these low-consumption CFLs, which has led to saving for the respective power users of over 14 million units a year.'' The company plans to extend the scheme, underway only in Delhi, into other states in consultation with other state electricity boards and distribution companies.

Bharti Foundation launches Bharti Scholarship Scheme

New Delhi, Feb 25:  Bharti Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Bharti Enterprises, today launched 'Bharti Scholarship Scheme' in 30 premier institutions across the country.The 'Bharti Scholarship Scheme' will help academically bright students, who are pursuing higher education but have limited financial resources for the same. It aims at assisting such students in becoming professionally or technically qualified. As part of its scholarship scheme, the Bharti Foundation today awarded scholarships to seven students.....
