Lucknow, Jan 4 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today summoned the Principal Secretaries, Uttar Pradesh Finance and Housing departments, following a writ regarding the non-allocation of fund announced by BJP president Rajnath Singh during his tenure as the state Chief Minister.
The Lucknow Bench of the High Court, comprising Justice Pradeep Kant and O N Khandelwal passed the order on a writ filed by Ghaziabad based Media Education Centre.
In 2005, the institute had requested the UP Avas Vikas Parishad (UPAVP) to allot land for setting up the Media Centre. The UPAVP had alloted 3257.18 hectre land to the institute. Later, Rajnath Singh had announced Rs 50 lakh assistance to the institute and ordered District Magistrate to transfer the amount to UPAVP.
However, the UPAVP did not receive any fund.
The Court fixed February 2 for the next hearing.
