Five killed in Jaipur accident

Jaipur, Jan 4 (UNI) Five people were killed on the spot when their car collided with a truck at Tarnab village in Nagaur district last night, police said today.

They said the ill-fated car was hit when all its five passengers, belonging to Jhunjhunu district, were returning to Jayal after having dinner at a roadside 'Dhaba'.

The police have arrested the truck driver for rash and negligent driving.

Sydney: India's K M Beenamol qualified for the semi-finals the women's 400 metres at the Stadium Australia with the fourth spot in heat three of the second round here on Saturday.Beenamol, who had the best timing in the round one of the heats, ahead offavourite Australia's Cathy Freeman on Friday, clocked 51.81 secondsand came fourth on Saturday.
